I wanna take a ride on your disco stick
News reports suggest rising star Lady Gaga has changed her plans for releasing a new single in the UK over concerns the lyrics are too raunchy. The video for the track has already been banned in Australia.
It’s unclear whether this is a genuine change in release plans or a publicity stunt. Certainly it’s not the first time a musician has used a controversial song/video and the suggestion of it being too hot to handle to generate a buzz and increased sales. I’ve not seen criticisms of the product placement in the video (a brand of alcoholic drink and a particular make of wristwatch), but that gives me a lot more cause for concern than the song lyrics.
