Sad news today as we pay our respects to political columnist Molly Ivins who died on 31 January. Molly represented a unique form of journalism that is sadly lacking in many of her contemporaries. A number of tributes to Molly can be found on the web. This one from creators.com also links to Molly’s columns for 2006. Susie Bright has also written a moving tribute which explains more about Molly’s work and draws a stark contrast between the quality of Molly’s writing and the current vogue for drippy female ramblings so often seen in newspaper columns.
I’d like to remember Molly at her acerbic and hilarious best commenting on the daft rules for sex toys held by the state of Texas.Tweet
