Passover problems have been solved by Rabbi Mordechai Eliahu, who has argued the drug should be approved for use during this religious festival.
Previously there’s been some concern that Viagra couldn’t be taken at Passover, when only unleavened bread is permissible. The coating on the medication contravened this. Luckily, Israeli manufacturers found a way to deliver the drug in a kosher gelatin capsule.
The New York Daily News pointed out that even if the drug were made kosher, it didn’t necessarily mean it could be taken over Passover, when the only medication permissible is for life threatening illnesses.
However, as one man joked in the newspaper, the drug could be a matter of life and death.
