March 5th, 2007
The London Museum in Docklands is celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history month with a free exhibition called ‘Out in Time’
The exhibition is open daily 10am-6pm and closes on March 9th.
It includes hidden histories of 14th Century transgender prostitute Jon Rykener known as Eleanor, or Hannah Snell who in the 18th Century served in the armed forces as a man. The exhibition documents the challenges of LGBT groups to gain recognition – from the distant past to more recent events. Once the exhibition closes it will be available to tour to schools, colleges and other interest groups (more information available on the website).Tweet
