December 1st, 2012
This December I’m really excited about dedicating this blog to fundraising for Hesperian Health Guides. They’ve been publishing health resources for communities and practitioners since 1973 and have publications in over 100 languages (more information here).
Every day throughout Advent (plus Hannukah and Yule) I’ll be sharing seasonal songs and snippets to encourage you to donate to Hesperian, and perhaps to inspire people to volunteer, and/or share the range of publications they have in the areas of health and development.
As today is also World Aids Day you may want to see the resources Hesperian have about HIV, including:
HIV, Health, and Your Community
Where there is no doctor
Setting up community health programmes
Where women have no doctor has several chapters on HIV (including symptoms, prevention, pregnancy and breastfeeding, and women sex workers).
To get us in the mood for giving, here’s Kate Rusby with the lovely carol Sweet Bells
